Elundini Day Care Centre opened it's doors in 2007 and is run by 2 local ladies. Thanks to overseas funding we managed to give both ladies a monthly stipend and to provide a nutritious lunch for the children from 2011 to 2019. In January 2019 we received funding to turn a vacant room in our community hall into a separate kitchen for the kindergarten. In April 2019 we received the good news that the kindergarten will be funded by the Department of Social Development. We also established a
permaculture community garden next to the creche that will provide fresh veggies all year around for the kids.
The kindergarten still needs a lot of TLC: we are still looking for funding to tile the whole kindergarten, to put in a ceiling to control the temperature a bit better and to plaster the building on the outside.
