Elundini Day Care Centre

Elundini Day Care Centre opened it's doors in 2007 and is run by 2 local ladies. Thanks to overseas funding we managed to give both ladies a monthly stipend and to provide a nutritious lunch for the children. One of the ladies is following a training to become a certified care giver. This year we also established a permaculture garden next to the creche that will hopefully provide fresh veggies all year around.

In order to get funded by the Department of Social Development of South Africa, certain rules need to be met. One of them is that the food for the children can't be cooked in the same room as where the children are playing for health and safety reasons. For this we need to install a separate kitchen in a different room of the community hall. Some walls need to be plastered and painted, the electricity need to be tubed and the floor need to be patched.
